    1. Hi Rhonda,
I actually use the 5qt which is plenty big for this recipe. If you make it I’d love to hear your thoughts.

  1. Hi there! Im really wanting to try this artisan cheese bread..i dont have a dutch oven, could i just form it and bake it on a pan in the oven? TiA

  2. Hai, may I know where to keep the bread for this step “Cover the dough and allow it to rest for 12-18 hours. “. To keep in room temperature or fridge? Appreciate to have you reply. Thank you…

    1. Yes, artisan bread is perfect for any grilled sandwich. YUM. I have used both, AP and bread flour so I suggest use whatever is handy 🙂

  3. My dutch oven is only rated to 400 degrees. Can this be baked at 400 degrees? If so, how long would you suggest?

    1. I would think that if you preheat the dutch oven at 400 degrees for 30 min, then add the bread dough and cover and bake for 40 min, then take the lid off and bake another 40, it should be ok. Maybe take an internal temp and make sure it’s 200 degrees F or more. I know with sourdough bread I more worry about internal temp of the bread than baking time.

  4. So I made this and it rose to the top of the bowl within 5 hours. Should I bake or just wait twelve hours?

    1. Hi Emily, Yes, if it rose nicely you can bake it. Was it set in a really warm place? You could set it in a cooler area and cover and let sit a few more hours, but I’d worry it will topple over the top of the bowl and be to proofed.

Let me know what you do and how it turns out.
