While visiting Sunset Bay Getaway Duluth Minnesota Hipcamp there are things you can do to get a feel for this beautiful area.
Just 1 mile down the road is a fun place called Pequaywan Inn. A nice bar/restaurant that has great food and service. (I know, I work there). Close enough to walk to on a nice day.
Take a drive just 10 miles away to a really neat bar called Hugo’s Bar. A staple in the local area for many many years.
For those who travel with ATV’s, there are ATV trails close by. Places to fish, wildlife to hunt and nature walks all available close by. However, you will be staying on a lake when you are at Sunset Bay Getaway and can fish off the dock, but do need a Minnesota fishing license, bait and a rule book. Resident Mosquitos
Minnesota is well known as the state with 10,000 lakes, but also as the state with a million mosquito’s. While we do have our yard treated every 21 days by Mosquito Squad, those pesky little blood sucking residents don’t always leave us alone.
We have found that they are the worst when it’s gloomy out, or just for about an hour before the sun sets.
A few tips and suggestions for you. Bug dope is a must for most who camp, anywhere you camp. Keeping your camper doors closed, even during the day. Bugs like to find all sorts of ways to get in and hide. Then, they keep you awake all night.
Thermacell products have become our new best friend. They offer many kinds but we use the Thermacell Patio Shield when we are on our deck or even sitting at the lake in the evening.

About Your Hosts at Sunset Bay Getaway Duluth Minnesota Hipcamp
We are Tony and Sheila Thomas. Married for over 25 years and also love to travel. Excited to open our property up to others who love traveling. We understand how hard it is sometimes to find nice places to stay.
While we don’t offer hook-ups as of right now, what we offer is a relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful location to call home while you are here.
Summer is busy and we both are on the go. But, we will always be here to welcome you to our property. Keeping in touch with us thru the Hipcamp messaging or direct texting helps us prepare for your arrival. Because we both are busy it’s best to know at least a day in advance what your timeline is for arrival.
Gunner and Poika are the 2 resident dogs. Gunner is a big ol’ black lab and a gentle giant. He loves his ball, but he is old so if he wants to play please take it easy on him. Having free roam of the yard he will most likely come to visit you. If you have dogs with they are to be leashed at all times and you must clean up after them. While Gunner is very friendly, he is not interested in other dogs and doesn’t “play” with other dogs. He just wants lots of petting and his ball.
Poika is a little black Shih Tzu that does not have free roam of the yard because, well he is a sh!t! He doesn’t listen to mommy and likes to wander toward the highway. So, Poika is only outside when mommy is and usually on a leash.
Before You Arrive to this Duluth Minnesota Hipcamp
