Miami Zoo is a Must When Visiting Miami
I am an animal lover and while I was staying in Fort Lauderdale with a friend she took me to the Miami Zoo. A huge zoo with a plethora of animals and exhibits. The Miami Zoo is a must when visiting Miami especially if you love animals.
A zoo goer can get in on the action with many interactive options. When I went I got a chance to feed a giraffe. Something that was a bucket list thing for me.
You can also dine and shop there. Don’t pass this one up.
Go Shopping!
It’s one of the biggest things Miami is known for, and there’s plenty of shopping opportunities to see you through the entire trip. There are various malls and marketplaces, all with big brand names and their own unique local goods.
Whether you like luxury shopping or buying unique, handmade things you can’t find anywhere else, Miami is the place to go. Not to mention just how many luxury brands call Miami their home! Atelier for one, and you’ll find huge outlet stores for brands like Chanel and Dolce and Gabbana.
Visit Monkey Jungle
Monkey Jungle in Miami is a pretty unique place in all of America, so it deserves a mention on this list. Calling itself an ‘eco-show park’, Monkey Jungle allows you to tour the rainforest landscape and interact with animals that would call such a habitat their home – you can be surrounded by monkeys by venturing deep into the forest with a tour guide! And it’s not just monkeys you’ll find at Monkey Jungle – they do bird shows as well, which is great for lovers of parrots that are rare all around the world.
Hire a Boat
Hiring a boat is probably the number one thing to do in Miami. GetMyBoat’s analysis of the best cities for boating in the US has found it’s literally the best city for anyone who loves sailing, or simply being a passenger while someone else does all the rowing and/or steering. So if you don’t have a boat to sail down there yourself, hire one and spend at least one day exploring the city from the water. Crystal clear waves and a big beach culture will give you plenty to do once you’re out there.
Go on a Food Tour
Miami has a big food scene, and if you’ve got a spare day in the itinerary, you’ll want to save it for a food tour. You can either book in with a company or arrange a tour on your own, but either way, you won’t need to walk too far to taste a thousand different cuisines cooked using locally sourced ingredients and a lot of passion for the craft. Miami Culinary Tours tends to be the most popular provider, but if you’ve already seen a couple of restaurants you’d like to go to, you just need to book a table!
Visiting Miami is going to be fun. There’s always something going on for everyone!
