Thanks for booking with Sunset Bay Getaway – Hipcamp in Duluth, Minnesota. We are looking forward to meeting you.
Because we offer 3 spots to camp at Sunset Bay Getaway there is a slight chance you won’t be the only one here.
There are a few rules as well as some info you might find handy. Check out our page for more info on our Hipcamp.
Sunset Bay Getaway Rules
Relaxing and enjoying Sunset Bay Getaway is the goal, but as with anything in life there are a few rules.
Respect Our Home – Sunset Bay Getaway
Please be respectful and mindful that this is our home. Do not litter or leave any trace that you have been here. Don’t damage or harm anything on our property.
Dog Rules
It is required that if you have dogs you clean up after them and keep them on a leash. Even though this is our yard, we clean up after our own dogs.
Resident dogs are friendly and Gunner (Big ol’ Black Lab) does have free roam. He is a big gentle giant and really isn’t interested in other dogs, just his ball. We do ask you not throw or kick his ball as he is older and is in pain, but because he is a Lab he forgets that when it’s playtime. So, petting and loves are great, but no ball play. The other dog is Poika (tiny Shih Tzu) and he is only outside with me on his leash to potty.
Garbage
There is a can down by the cabin (by the lake) that you can dispose of your garbage in. Please bag your garbage up and don’t throw loose garbage or pet waste in there. Everything must be bagged.
Campfires
There is one firepit for everyone to share. If you purchased a firewood bundle it will be sitting by the fire for you. Please use care when having a fire and put the fire out when you are done. Doing so can be done by using water from the lake.
Use of Lake at Sunset Bay Getaway
Pequaywan Lake is a beautiful lake and those who stay can fish off the dock (must have a fishing license). Swimming is at your own risk, as the part of the lake we are on is pretty shallow and weedy. However, if you have swim floats or a kayak you can use those to explore the lake.
Wanna see the lake, we are sometimes available to give lake tours or even deliver you to the bar down the road that is accessible by the lake. We work for tips to cover gas and time.
There are no boats allowed on this lake other than from those who live here.
Quiet Time
Neighbors are close and noise carries on a lake. 10pm is quiet time and we ask you have no music playing outside. If enjoying the campfire by the lake you of course can be a normal person and talk and laugh, that is not frowned on and highly encouraged! We want you to feel at home and have fun.
