Las Vegas Baby!
Full of excitement for all! That’s what Las Vegas is all about. While you might think of Las Vegas as being only for those who like to gamble, that is not the case at all. There is so much for you to see and do when in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas is full of shows of all kinds. I have absolutely loved all the shows I’ve seen on my Vegas trips. My favorite was the Prince Tribute show. So many attractions in Las Vegas, you are not short of things to explore.
On the strip there are casino’s to bop in and out of and just take in the Las Vegas magic and designs. Shopping, thrilling amusement park rides and lots of food to enjoy. Downtown on Freemont street there is a whole other world of Vegas. The street comes alive at night and there are performers everywhere.
A short drive from Las Vegas strip is Hoover Dam and it is a must for everyone. History and beauty all in one place. Traveling to Hoover Dam gives you a break from the Las Vegas action and puts you into nature for a bit. Perfect attraction if you are visiting Las Vegas with the family.

Las Vegas Travel Tips
While this should pertain to any travel, here are some Las Vegas Travel Tips you might find handy.
Have a plan before you go. This helps to assure that if there are shows you want to see, you can get tickets in advance because they sell out fast. Decide either loosely or strict, what your days will consist of.
Pack comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing items. Las Vegas is in the desert and can be hot during the day, and chilly at night. And, if you stay on the strip you will want comfortable shoes for all the walking you will be doing.
Do not make eye contact with street vendors. Every street vendor is paying for their spot and that means they are working and if they catch your attention they will reel you in, get you to take pictures with them which they will then ask for money for, or talk you into buying things. Never get pulled into a store by a street vendor telling you they can get you great tickets to a show. Those people are selling timeshares or vacation packages and will be very persistent, so just ignore and walk on by. It’s hard, but do it!
Use caution when riding in an Uber/Taxi/Lyft ride. There are many scammers out there and many of these rides are operated by non English speaking people and there are many articles of people being over charged. Just be careful.
Being on the Las Vegas strip is fairly safe, but if you are walking don’t walk north of the Stratosphere as it’s a rough area. If you rented a car, use caution no matter where you go.
Protect Your Valuables
Bringing credit cards and cash is a must, you are away from home and need that. As well as your drivers license. However, if you lose all that, it can be devastating on many levels. Here are tips on items to buy that can help you protect your valuables.
Wear a cross body purse and make sure the purse part is in front, not behind you. Check out these ones.
If a crossbody purse isn’t your thing, check out some of these fanny packs. They are not always the cutest, but I’ve found I love them more than a crossbody purse because they are not tugging on my neck or shoulder.
For those guys who don’t carry a purse, might I suggest putting your wallet in your front pocket, or maybe getting a chain wallet. There are sneaky pick pockets everywhere. My husband has a chain wallet, and he still puts his wallet in his front pocket.
Here are some nice chain wallets to check out.
Las Vegas Dining Options
Eating in Las Vegas isn’t as cheap as it once was. The first time I went, in 1998, a couple could eat at a buffet for under $20 for both. Now, it’s double or triple that. If dining out is your thing, research menu’s and prices on casino websites before heading out for meals. This helps you save money because you can take advantage of any specials casino’s offer.
Choosing to eat off the strip is cheaper, but then if you are there without transportation, it can get expensive by the time you pay for a ride and your meal.
Vegas has a ton of amazing restaurants. Click here for a full list of Las Vegas restaurants so you can plan ahead.
