What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! That is what many say. But, when you visit the best Las Vegas attractions you will want to talk about them. There are so many amazing Las Vegas Attractions to see and experience. These ones below are just a few of my favorites.
Just walking the Las Vegas strip at night is enough of an experience but why stop there. Las Vegas attractions are endless. Shows, casino’s, bars, restaurants, street performers, shopping, nightlife, tours, helicopter rides, Hoover Dam, and so much more.

Las Vegas Attractions
If you are looking to visit Las Vegas the first thing you should do is research for things of interest to you. Some people go to Vegas to gamble, while others go for the shows. But, Las Vegas is so much more than just gambling or shows. The sights are amazing, the food is fabulous and the music scene is top notch.
While I’ve only been in Vegas a few times and only experienced a forth of what there is to offer, I wanted to share my favorites with you.
Planning Your Las Vegas Vacation
The very first time I went to Vegas was 1998 and there was not much at that time to find on the internet. These days the world is at your fingertips and you can do all the research needed for an amazing vacation.
There are two websites loaded with Las Vegas happening and deals. They are www.vegas.com and www.lasvegas.com. Grab deals and load up on what’s happening while you will be in town. There are plenty of shows deals and stay packages to be found.
Make sure to register for each casino’s rewards program ahead of time online to look like you know what you are doing or at least get the knowledge of them. Or, check out each casino online and make a list of the ones you want to hit for their shows, or going’s on.
There are many casino’s and you most likely can’t hit them all so pick 5-10 that tickle your Vegas fancy.
Residence Shows
Experience a show or two (or 5). Vegas always has residencies shows running which are amazing. A residence show is where they hire a celebrity to perform a concert series for a certain length of time.
Example: Elton John, Cher, Jennifer Lopez, Aerosmith and other celebrities accept offers to be in Vegas for months or years at a time and perform. These change all the time so do some research before you go.
Tribute Shows
Tribute shows are one of my favorite things to catch in Las Vegas. There are a lot of them to choose from so again, do your research and get your tickets before hand so you don’t miss out. Some sell out fast.
Being the huge Prince fan that I am, and being from Minnesota there was no way I would visit Las Vegas without seeing the Purple Reign show. And since it was at the hotel I was staying at, that made it a must!
Purple Reign was amazing!! I laughed, and cried, and sang my favorite songs. And there was an after party with the cast of the show that I attended and got to meet other MJ fans, do some dancing and just had a blast!
Another of my favorite tribute shows is MJ Live. Actually this was the 2nd time I’ve seen this show, and can’t wait to see it again some day. Check out the video I compiled during the show.
There are 2 performers that play MJ, and now I can say I have seen them both. Not the best video as it is a bunch of Snapchat clips all rolled into one story.
While it’s not really a tribute act, the Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque Du Soleil is a must see. I sadly did not see it, but have heard amazing things!
Other Attractions to See
The Blue Man Group and Chris Angel are two more worth catching. If you like magic, Chris Angel will have you scratching your head for years, like I am.
Hop On Hop Off City Tour bus ride is a great way to take a guided tour of Vegas.ย This is a great way to see many sites of Las Vegas
Visit the Vegas Motor Speedway and experience Richard Petty Driving Experience. This is for the thrill of it all. Imagine man handling a real a 600 horsepower NASCAR race car on an actual race car track. This is priceless.
There is also an option to race an exotic race car of your dreams while at the track. Why not go ahead and live out your James Bond for 150 minutes?
Take in a few Museums and Galleries will you are visiting. There is an good list Vegas attractions. My favorites are the Hollywood Car Museum, the Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition and the Erotic Heritage Museum.
Hotels in Las Vegas
There is plenty to explore in Vegas outside of the casinos. Make sure you visit the MGM Hotel, the Bellagio hotel and New York New York hotel to see what Hollywood saw in them.
These three hotels are truly worth staying and sightseeing. They each have a uniqueness to them worth acknowledging.
Here I am inside New York New York at one of their shops showing you how big their Hershey’s Syrup is! LOL!
So go make some memories of your own that cannot be duplicated or repeated outside of Las Vegas because remember โWhat happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.โ Enjoy.
First Vegas Trip
My first trip to Vegas was sort of a honeymoon trip. We stayed on the strip for 5 nights at Mandalay Bay. It was relaxing and beautiful and we were way up high with a view of the whole strip.
Mandalay Bay was the newest hotel at the time we were there, in 1998. My husbands Mom lived in Vegas at the time so we stayed 4 nights at Mandalay and 3 nights with her.
While there we walked the strip, took in a show called Crazy Girls and a Tribute show. Ate at alot of great places and just enjoyed our hotel.
Second Vegas Trip
Our second trip was 19 years later (Dec 2016) and we stayed on the strip for 4 nights as well. That time we stayed at Hooters Casino and Hotel and I don’t recommend that place. While it is not a hotel I’d ever stay again, it served it’s purpose that trip.
For this trip we flew to Vegas, then rented a car and drove home. For the ride home we stopped at Hoover Damn and went thru the Grand Canyon.
While in the Grand Canyon you never know what you might see. Check out this guy doing a hand stand at the edge of a cliff.
Third Vegas Trip
My third trip was in July 2017 (HOT IN VEGAS IN JULY), for the IdeaFit Expo. I stayed off strip, but yet at a beautiful hotel, The Westgate, and had a blast!
The IdeaFit Expo was so much fun. Health and Fitness lovers from all over attend this expo. It’s a great place for those in the health and wellness space to learn, network, and just have fun. I had met a gal named Smiley in a blogging group we were both in, and we decided to share a room. We hit it off and it was a great 4 days of fun.
I even got to meet someone famous while at the expo.ย Part of my time in Vegas was for IdeaFit, and the other for the Blogfest Expo.
Todd Durkin was one of the speakers there and I got to meet him. His story was so inspiring and made the whole room cry, even him. He even photo bombed me and my friend Smiley.
